The Notary Public, one of the most prestigious professions in Mexico, is appointed directly by the State Governor.
The Notary Public, commonly referred to as Notario, has the power to witness and certify important business documents
which require absolute authenticity. The appointment also holds responsibility for the management and secure storage
of all original records. Notarios must be Mexican citizens of at least 35 years of age, hold a degree in Law, have
three years work experience at a Notary Public office, and must pass a stringent State examination. Those who
successfully pass the exam, in time, may be appointed as a Notary Public by the State Governor.
